Client has bought steep rectangular plot above the sea on the Peljesac Peninsula in order to build two houses. The project task was to design a house for a couple and their four adult children. The second house was intended for the commercial use. The family house is set on the top of the plot with stunning views over the open sea and the Korcula and Lastovo Islands. It consists of ground floor with parent’s master bedroom opening into private terrace, large open plan living space with kitchen and dinning area. Indoor kitchen continues into outdoor kitchen with a bespoke grill and bread oven. Upper floor has four double bedrooms and three bathrooms.
The basement garage space and a laundry room are located next to the access road and are hidden from the view by the slope of the plot. Main terrace designed for socializing and family gatherings is at the front of the ground floor with a pool that is sunken under the terrace level so it does not block the view from the living room. Main house feature is a combination of simple materials, white façade contrasted with a local stone, all complemented by wooden pergola beams. The natural wood is used as a floor covering of a sun deck next to the pool. Large glass panes provide undistracted view to the sea and the islands.
